While we need to be careful what we feed them, chickens and goats are great foragers and help us breakdown these scraps and graze in our organic fields. We grow a variety of cover crops such as rye, wheat and clover for our animals.

We love goats and chickens! Our current goat herd:

• Our "special needs" goat, Emma (nicknamed "Emma-dini" for how fast she can get out of the pens!), who has taught us every life has value if you can find its purpose;


• Five adult does — Susannah, Meg, Macy, Hayley and her daughter, Elvira;


• Five baby goats -- Zayni May, one of the "Dalmation Triplets", born New Year's Eve 2022; the "Dr. Seuss Triplets", born January 11th, 2023: Cindy Lou Who, Gertrude and Jo-Jo; and Miss Lulu, born by herself January 18th, 2023;


• Our senior breeding buck, Tonto Too/Two , now nine years old, (old for a buck);


• Two of Tonto's sons, bucks Genji and Sterling;


• Two adult wethers (fixed males), Sherlock and Watson; and


• Six young wethers: twins Zuri and Rumi, twins Luigi Jr. and Jorge, lil Mister Milagro, and Truman, one of the "Dalmation Triplets". (Need brush clearing? All wethers available for sale!)

This year, we added a registered Nigerian Dwarf herd: handsome and gentle buck, Luigi Sr. and his blue eyed harem with wattles: Reba the redhead (named for Reba McEntire); Piper, who is black and white; April, the adorable calico, and Zoe, whose face looks like a "Dia de los Muertos" statue!
