Chicken
Josephine & Henny Penny
Hi, we are the “old ladies” of Farmer Deb’s coops, we are 5 years old. (To prove we still have our stuff, we lay a lot of eggs and move around a lot, hence the blurry picture!)
On the left, I am Josephine, named for the chanteuse (that’s a fancy French word for ‘singer’) Josephine Baker. I am a Black Australorp. The person for who I am named adopted many children of different colors, she called them her “Rainbow Tribe”. My human mommy, Farmer Deb, has “Rainbow Dream Organics”, we like rainbows and believe in equality.
Next to me is my sister, Henny Penny, a Buff Orpington. We came from different mommies and daddies, but I call Henny Penny my sister because we came from the same hatchery in the same box when we were three days old.
